Pop legend Gloria Estefan sat down with the ladies of The View to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and to talk up her upcoming bio-musical On Your Feet!. “It’s a love story between Emilio [her husband] and myself,” she says, “it’s a love story for music and it’s a love story for this country that gave us so many opportunities.” The tuner is slated to light up the Great White Way in October 2015, and casting is underway for the coveted role of the Latin sensation through a series of open calls. While the Grammy winner has reportedly expressed interest in getting Ariana Grande to return to Broadway in the role, she did say, “We’re really looking for somebody that can be more of a blank slate.” All we know for now is whoever books it will have large shoes to fill.
